Customer Review: Very educational and entertaining
I would highly recommend this classic toy. I bought this for my son when he was age 1. At first, he would just chew on the pieces and throw them all over so I kept the train for a while and reintroduced it to him a few months later. This is one of his most favorite toys and he will be 3 years old in a few weeks. He plays with it everyday. We still have all the pieces as I have been very vigilant in looking for any misplaced pieces. Because of my son’s very positive experience with this toy, I have bought another one recently to give as a gift to a 2-year-old boy. I’ve read that Melissa and Doug offer a lifetime warranty for this toy so that’s another big plus.

Bought this puzzle set for my daughter’s 3rd birthday. The set is nicely made of a thick balsa wood type material. The four puzzles each have their own identifying mark on the back of each piece - so, if they are mixed up, they can be easily sorted. My daughter is really enjoying playing with the puzzles.

Customer Review: Enduring Wooden Blocks
I had similar blocks when I was a child and purchased these for my first great-grandson this past Christmas (2007). He immediately went for the string to pull around his blocks and really loves playing and building things with these blocks. He also enjoys putting them away in their own little wagon. These alphabet/number blocks have been around for over 100 years and continue to be loved and enjoyed generation after generation. They encourage the child’s creativity and learning. Who could ask for more?

I like wooden toys for kids. This they can stack, learn colors, balance, letters, start learning short words, fitting them back in the wagon, and the fun of putting other things in the wagon to tote them around. Cats fit will too. Blocks are always a great sorce of imagination play.

We love the Melissa and Doug puzzles, so when my 4 year old daughter received the calendar for X-Mas, we were thrilled. We do “Calendar” every day. We bought this one for another little 4 year old as well. My only suggestion, put the calendar in a place that your child cannot reach it without help. There are ALOT of pieces that you don’t want to lose.

Customer Review: A Way to Save $25 if You Want to Keep Your Rugs
I bought this for my daughter when she was starting to walk, and it is a nice-looking thing; wooden and retro and the alligators are very cute and all that. However, I just don’t see how this can be any good unless you live in, like, The Overlook Hotel or some big modern loft with smoothly carpeted or concrete floors. Because this thing just does not work in a little Craftsman bungalow with wonky hardwoods covered in oriental rugs. It gets caught on everything (especially fringes) and causes baby much frustration with steering because of the wheels, you see. I’ve found that my daughter (who walks well on her own now) much prefers to push around a $5 plastic laundry basket which has the added bonus of providing a place for her to ride when I push her.

My little girl loves this push toy! She becomes so elated when she pushes it, she can hardly contain herself… pure entertainment! Plus, it is teaching her how to walk. Recommended if you have hard floors (it takes extra effort on certain carpets or rugs). She also received a plastic push toy that is too light and slips all over the hardwoods, so we don’t use it. The Chomp & Clack Alligator is sturdy and, with a little practice, is easy for a little one to maneuver. In a world of cheap, plastic toys, this is a great find.
